I Grew Up Here - El Barrio NYC

I Grew Up Here - Photo Exhibit

Stop by the East Harlem Cafe this month to view our latest art exhibit by photographer Rodney Mendez titled “I Grew Up Here…El Barrio NYC”. In order to bring out the life of each image, they were all printed on high quality aluminum or acrylic sheets an added touch we’re sure you’ll enjoy. Below you’ll find a description on the exhibit.

From The Artist

In life change is inevitable but that does not mean we should forget and cannot preserve through images the memories we cherish. This exhibit depicts a little taste of the community and everyday life in Spanish Harlem through images. Dedicated to everyone from the El Barrio | Spanish Harlem community both former and current members and to those who’ve visited the historic neighborhood we love.

All photos were taken by photographer Rodney Mendez who was born and raised in the early 1970’s, in El Barrio | Spanish Harlem NYC. You can find more of his work around the neighborhood. This is his small contribution towards the preservation of his neighborhood…his barrio.

Exhibit Dates

The exhibit will be on display from November 1st, 2014 to January 31st, 2015.
